i've been making music since i was 13.
creating and releasing an album at 29 years old still creates such a feeling that can't be replicated by anything else.
i started "the party" back in february and completed it in early august. it is written, recorded and mixed by me. i also photographed and edited the album art.
my music has always been a vehicle for me to navigate my emotions and also as a hand to others who may need a specific type of reassurance in their low moments. music is always there for you and i think that's such a beautiful thing.
for my friend gone too soon, tristan.
i met tristan when we were both so young. my best friend tyler introduced us to each other and now some of my favorite things are forever attached to him and his memory: halo 3, skate 3, and now this album.
tristan's impact on me as a person is something i will be forever grateful for. to honor him and put my absolute best efforts and energy into the album, i know i would make him so proud. he showed me so much music over his lifetime and while i wish more than anything that he was still here with us, i truly do feel like this will keep his memory alive at the very least.
if you listen closely, a light hearted voicemail i had saved from him is sampled on the album.ย
we lost him back in february and not a day has gone by where i don't think about him. he is still so loved and i owe it to him to carry on.
